How much would you pay for a 20-year-old nude photo of Madonna?
Does $37,500 seem reasonable? Well, that's the amount an anonymous European dropped for the prized photograph, according to Christie's auction house.
Snapped before the megastar's music career took off, Madonna answered an ad looking for a nude model back in 1979. The revealing photo - taken by Lee Friedlander - eventually found its way into Playboy in 1985.
Five other pictures from the same shoot were sold back in 2003 for $7,170.
A second photo of Madonna also sold on Thursday, that one for $18,750. That picture featured the singer in lingerie, with a man kneeling beside her.
The two Madonna images were among 150 photographs sold on Thursday that featured many different celebrities. They were all a part of the Leon and Michaela Constantiner collection.
