3M will soon launch what it claims to be the first pocket projector in the market, the MPro110. Oh sure, Aiptek promised us something similar with its PocketCinema V10 before. Rumors even said that it will be able to project images of up to 50-inches in size.
Unfortunately, we haven’t seen much of the PocketCinema V10 since then, but it might only be because the company chose to launch its projector elsewhere. According to a comment in popsci.com, Aiptek already released the V10 in Germany and other (perhaps European) countries. Nevertheless, even if it might not be the first to release a pocket projector at all, the 3M MPro110 still deserves mention. The MPro110 projects VGA videos up to 11-inches across. The tester mentioned it worked well on a variety of surfaces, although it doesn’t seem to fare well under bright lights. It will reportedly be released on September 30 with a retail price of $359.
